GuestSpaces Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The GuestSpaces team takes pride in offering the very best for our Guests and Homeowners under all circumstances.

Our thoughts go out to those affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as those working on the front lines to contain its spread. Rest assured that we are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization statements regarding the coronavirus and adapting certain policies and procedures accordingly. 

As a local property management company, we are balancing the needs of multiple parties through this unprecedented situation. Many of our homeowners temporarily open up their homes while working outside of Austin and rely on rental income to pay for expenses like a mortgage or maintenance. They, too, are experiencing hardship as they face multiple cancellations and the potential halt of travel over the next few weeks. Please know we are seeking the best solution for every person involved.

Below is a summary of what we are doing – keeping guest health and our homeowners top of mind:

Cleaning Protocols + Prevention

Our standard cleaning protocols are designed not only to ensure 5-Star reviews but also to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19. Our housekeeping teams utilize bleach-based products and disinfectants to thoroughly clean each home after guests depart and before the next guests arrive.

Though GuestSpaces’ vacation rental properties lack many of the “high-touch” points found in large hotels (front desk counters, room keys, elevators/buttons, public bathrooms, etc.) our housekeeping teams have been instructed to pay particular attention to the keypads on doors, sink handles, light switches, remotes, etc.

Each GuestSpaces property comes fully stocked with basic amenities – including hand soap. Per the CDC, GuestSpaces recommends that all Guests regularly wash their hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If you will be exploring the city, please also consider utilizing hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

While all properties will continue to be professionally cleaned and inspected, our office staff has been instructed to work remotely to further reduce risk.
